24/7 lifeWhen you 'signed up' for parenthood you probably didn't stop to think about the amount of time you would invest in it. It only became obvious to me when my kids became teenagers and I realized that I was a chauffeur and a cook "on demand". It was how we set our household up. Yours may be the same or different, that doesn't really matter. It is the communication that you develop between you and your children that will matter, especially during their teenage years. The time to start this two way dialogue is when they are little by letting them make choices of their own. Yes, let them actually make some decisions. |
Don't forget:GrandParent's Day September 7A good friend of mind recently told me that she may have gotten though to her kids better if she would have had conversations with them. I thought "huh?" She went on to say that the only time she spoke to them was to say "I love you", to correct them, or tell them what to do. |
